Provisions of the Management Council (M.C.) in CSIR Rules, Regulations, and By-laws
Each national laboratory will have a Management Council that will manage the affairs of the laboratory under the rules, regulations, directives, and guidelines issued by the Society, the Governing Body, the Director-General, and the Director.
Members from (ii) to (vi) will be nominated by the Director-General, CSIR. The term of the nominated members will be two years. All decisions in the Management Council meetings will be made by majority vote. Each member, including the Chairperson, will have one vote. The Director of the laboratory will preside over the meetings of the Management Council. In the temporary absence of the Director due to vacancy, illness, leave, deputation abroad, etc., the Acting Director of the laboratory will be the Chairperson of the Management Council. The Chairperson of the Management Council will preside over the meetings and also approve the proceedings. The Management Council will meet as required for the effective management of the laboratory/institute, but not less than three times in a financial year.
The Director-General of CSIR has reconstituted the Management Council of CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur for the period from 01-01-2024 to 31-12-2025 under Rule 65 of the CSIR Rules and Regulations, as follows:

The proceedings of the Management Council will be approved by its Chairperson. The Governing Body or the Director-General, as its principal executive officer, may review/amend any decision of the Management Council and may pass such orders as deemed necessary, which will be binding on the Management Council.
