CSIR-NEERI’s Wastewater Technology Division (WWT) has more than three decades of experience of providing customised and need based solution for varied industrial problems. It also has developed processes for identification and assessment of non-performances; and provide trouble shooting measures for the efficient and effective operation & maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
Industrial effluents are very complex. Several industrial sectors like textile, pulp & paper, tanneries, refineries, electroplating, coal industries, pharmaceuticals, power plants, etc. generate highly complex wastewater that require a combination of unit operations and processes, an altogether different technological interventions, for catering to their specific need of wastewater treatment and management.
Rising wastewater complexity and stringent laws of the land are pushing demands for better technological solution for wastewater treatment that can deliver treated effluent of recyclable quality at cheaper cost of treatment.
Based on field experience and arrays of off-the shelf treatment tool boxes available, the following broad intervention is resorted to for achieving the goals of appropriate wastewater management:
The Division instrumental in initiating centralized wastewater treatment facility (CETP) in the country for treatment of wastewater from various small scale industrial clusters, has expertise in providing tailor-made multidisciplinary based solutions for management of complex industrial effluents by extending technological leverage adopting bulls eye approach.
